Residual Echoes is the third chapter of TITLED’s chain exhibition Contours of a Fractured Horizon, which runs from 21 August to 31 December 2026. The exhibition unfolds through changing constellations of artists and works, exploring how experience, perception and relationships are shaped in a time when familiar structures are dissolving.
In Residual Echoes, Anabela Veloso and Ditte Haarløv Johnsen explore what remains when the structures on which we build our lives shift or fall apart.
Anabela Veloso presents 3 bichos-da-traça, a video about her family’s financial collapse and inherited ideas of work, ambition and prosperity. By bringing the original work together with a new part two years later, Veloso moves from metaphor towards revelation, exploring how promises, debt and loss continue to shape our ideas of another life.
Ditte Haarløv Johnsen gathers traces of the past in a work about the fragility of memory and the shifts between recollection, identity and what we leave behind. Through personal archives and notes to herself, she explores different strategies for holding on to a sense of who we are as our connection to our own history gradually changes.
